Biking across Canada journal listings

As this site slowly begins to build, I thought it would be a good way start by listing links to journals of others who have already biked across Canada, and in a few instances, to the journals of people preparing for their bike trip.

Some people made it coast to coast, some called it quits early, others never intended to ride the full distance.

Distances range from the shorter 6 000km route, to 10 000km and more. Some people are trying to raise money or awareness, while others are just completing personal goals, or enjoying Canada and biking.

I'm riding across and throughout Canada for cancer research beginning April 2, 2011. I'm planning to visit 120 locations along the way reaching as far north as Inuvik and as far east as St. John's for a total to 25,000km over two cycling seasons, 2011 and 2012. I'll be posting blogs, photos and stories on my site along the way, plus some cool technobytes like GPS, weather data, distance travelled, etc. Wish me luck!

Hi, I love that you're pulling these resources together! My partner, Alex, and I are doing the trip across Canada this summer. We set off from Vancouver on May 29 and plan to take about three months to make it to St. John's. Myself (Nate) and my buddy (Tom) are biking across Canada starting in Vancouver on May 9th. Please check out our site xcanada4cancer.ca for info, pictures, equipment and progress! I cycled across Canada during summer2010 through all 10provinces, covering a distance of 8300km. I had a fantastic time throughout (even in the bad times) and meet lots of amazing and hospitable people. It gave me the determination and desire to push myself even further and so in February2012 I shall set off to cycle around the world. 29000km in 5months. It would be fantastic if people could follow me through my facebook page to see my progress before and during my epic endurance race.

14230km across Canada including the North. Did a headstand in every provincial and territorial capital buildings chamber room or caucus room - barred from 2 of them. woops. I'm still going, now at 27,000km heading to Africa.

I bicycled across Canada during the Summer of 2010 in support of mental health programs.
